Most garden seating gets one thing wrong: it asks you to sit upright for hours and call that relaxing. This 6-seat modular lounge dining set fixes that by giving you deep, cushioned seating around a proper dining-height table, so you can eat, read and stay put far longer than you would on rigid chairs. It needs roughly a 3m x 3m area, which is about the size of many standard new-build patios, and the modular layout lets you arrange it to suit the space rather than forcing your garden round the furniture.

The frame is powder-coated aluminium, and aluminium cannot rust, meaning you can leave the set outside all year round without worrying about the usual steel-frame problem. Steel frames rust from the inside out through joints and bolt holes where powder coating cannot fully protect. By the time rust shows on the outside, the damage is already underway. This set uses hand-woven, UV-stabilised HDPE rattan too, which holds up properly in sun and weather. Unlike cheaper PVC rattan, HDPE doesn’t turn brittle and crack after a couple of summers in UV.

Thick seat cushions and back cushions are included, and the dining-height table makes a real difference. The gap between a 45cm coffee table and a 70cm dining-height table is whether you can actually eat outdoors or just rest a mug. The covers unzip and wash when needed, and all you need to do is store the cushions when they’re not in use. They’re not waterproof by design because waterproof cushions feel clammy, trap heat, and the coating tends to crack in UV over time.
