The frame is powder-coated aluminium, and aluminium cannot rust. That matters because steel rusts from the inside out, with moisture entering through joints and bolt holes where powder coating can’t fully protect. By the time rust shows externally, the structure is already weakened. This set uses hand-woven PE rattan over that aluminium frame, and the rattan is UV-stabilised, so it resists fading and cracking in strong sun better than PVC-based rattan, which becomes brittle after a couple of summers.

Comfort-wise, this is where reclining furniture earns its keep. Standard chairs keep you bolt-upright. These backrests adjust, so you can lean back instead of perching. Thick seat and back cushions are included, with removable covers for easier cleaning. The cushions are shower-proof rather than waterproof, and that’s deliberate: waterproof coatings can feel clammy and can crack over time in UV. All you need to do is store the cushions when they’re not in use or put them in a storage box.
